Extending Prayer Rooms Outside by Nicola Gladwell

I like prayer rooms. I think about them a lot. I often see them where they ‘shouldn’t’ be – I like the thought of democratizing prayer rooms and handing them to the public. I like the boiler room concept of inviting people into unconventional spaces of prayer in a less intimidating way, by facilitating layers outside of the prayer room that they can interact with – maybe a skate park, a cafe, or an inclusive art studio. I like the idea of people on the margins of prayer being welcomed and given space.
